Winter 2011-2012 is over and the Memorial Day weekend is
here signaling the advent of summer season in Park City, Deer Valley and
Canyons resorts. Time to enjoy warmer and longer days in the
spectacular Wasatch Mountains.
Park City & Canyons are open and Deer Valley will open June 15th.
Canyons
Resort village is open which includes Canyon Mountain Sports rental shop
and the 18-hole putting course. Friday, June 14th it will open the
rest of its activities which include disc golf, the Zip Tour which takes
you from Lookout Cabin area across the ravine to Red Pine Lodge and
Canyon Mountain Bike Park which includes four flow trails for hiking.
There is also a Farmers’ Market every Wednesday staring June 6th. Also, Saturday night concerts are planned for this summer.
Park City Mountain Resort
Hiking, biking and zip lining are the main attractions at the Park City
Mountain Resort. PayDay lift will be serving your mountain biking/hiking
desires as well to the Alpine Slide and ZipRider.
Also, other activities include the Alpine Coaster, 18-hole putt-putt
golf course, the adventure zone and Little Miners Park. There is the
Legacy Launcher where people strap themselves in a harness and do flips
and jumps from a trampoline.
This will be the first season for the Flying Eagle is 100 feet off the
ground and is more like a lift car where two people can sit at a time.
The ZipRider is the traditional zip line where a single person sits and
rides down through the trees and above the alpine coaster tracks.
Deer Valley
Three lifts will be operating this summer - Silver Lake Express that
runs from Snow Park up and over to the Silver Lake mid-mountain area,
the Sterling Express what runs from Silver Lake to the top of Bald
Mountain and Ruby Express that starts at Empire Lodge and ends at the
top of Flagstaff.
There are 60-mile networks of single-track and hiking trails that interconnect all the mountains.
There is a complimentary historic guided hike that starts at Silver Lake
Village and goes to the different remnants of the silver mines.
Deer Valley’s Snow Park Amphitheater features concerts by world renowned artists.
On the lower portion of Main Street in Park City is the Park Silly
Sunday Market. This a colorful, zero waste street festival, farmers’
market, flea market, antique market and crafts market all in one. One
can enjoy a wide variety of the silliest, zaniest and best of local
arts, gourmet and ethnic food, imported items, eclectic local and
regional crafts, live street entertainment and great music. Opening
June 10th and runs through September.
