La Nina Conditions Continues to Strengthen - Nov 10th Update

During October, below-average sea surface temperatures (SST) associated with La Nina conditions strengthened even more across the east-central equatorial Pacific Ocean. The majority of the models used by the Climate Prediction Center predict that these La Nina conditions will continue, peaking in the November-January period and gradually weaken thereafter. Some of the models indicate that it will continue weak into the spring while others predict the stronger conditions continuing.

What does all this mean? Last winter was a La Nina winter and its not uncommon to be followed by an another La Nina winter. This is a favorable pattern for the Wasatch of Utah with the an active storm track producing normal or above amounts of precipitation. Recalling that last Winter (2010-2011) experienced well above normal amounts of precipitation (snowfall) in the Wasatch of Utah with the ski season lasting well into the spring.

The ski season has started in Utah with both Brighton and Solitude opening this past Thursday.

Another update will be issued on the progress of the current La Nina in December.

Now is the time to book your vacation and enjoyed the "Greatest Snow on Earth" Utah has to offer. There is Christmas-New Years, Sundance Film Festival in Park City, President's Week and MLK Day just to name the major holidays.

There are many properties that would fit your needs in Park City, Deer Valley and Canyons ski resorts at: http://www.skitriphomes.com/
