The last week in October the patrollers practice lift evacuation training. This is a week set aside of "hanging about on ropes" . This involves both the seasoned patrollers and the new group of rookies (17 this year) adequate training if the need arises. The end of the week they practice mock rescue, this is when when the new group of patrollers get a chance to evac the seasoned ones off the Bonanza Lift. Training is also provided in protocols and procedures involving the remainder of their duties before they start to work in about a week.
When skiing at the Park City Mountain Resort you can be assured that thorough training was provided to the patrollers and you should feel safe on the lifts and slopes.
Just think, Park City opens this Saturday, Nov 19th for the 2011-2012 ski season.
